Powered Roller Conveyors

DynoDrive 24v MDR – Itoh Denki | Powered Roller Conveyors

The DynoDrive 24v Motor Driven Roller (MDR) system, featuring trusted Itoh Denki technology, is the heart of advanced, cost-efficient and flexible automated material flow globally.

DynoDrive 24V MDR is defined by its compact design: the 24V DC brushless motor and gearbox are completely sealed inside the roller tube. This motorised roller powers an entire zone of slave rollers using O-rings (drive bands) or belts. This creates an extremely safe, quiet, and reliable conveying platform, ideal for handling light to medium loads and achieving uninterrupted, automated flow across the entire intralogistics process (reception, storage, assembly, etc.).

Dyno is a trusted partner, supplying products designed and manufactured in Japan under rigorous ISO9001 certification.

Integrated Drive: Motor and gearbox are fully enclosed inside the roller, resulting in a clean, quiet, and highly space-efficient profile.

Zero Product Damage: 24v Zero Pressure Accumulation (ZPA) logic is handled by internal circuit boards, ensuring products queue without collision.

Plug-and-Play Simplicity: Modular sections are electrically pre-wired and use plug connectors, allowing for extremely fast installation, configuration changes and system expansion.

Features, Benefits & Uses

Features & Benefits

  • Energy Savings: In a typical MDR system, rollers in any given zone only run 10% to 50% of the operational time. This run-on-demand technology allows you to realise energy savings from 30% to 70%.
  • Safety: The low DC 24v voltage and the fully enclosed motor minimise electrical hazards and exposed moving parts, making the system safe and easy to handle.
  • Easy to control: Functions such as zone accumulation logic, sensor signal I/O connectivity and acceleration/deceleration time setting are available directly on the driver cards. This enables less time for complex external control and wiring.
  • Low Maintenance: Conveyors only run as needed (ZPA), meaning there’s significantly less wear and tear on components, which reduces long-term maintenance costs.
  • Quiet Operation: Ideal for noise-sensitive environments like offices, mail rooms and workstations.

Uses

  • Upgrading existing gravity conveyors.
  • Powered curves and transfers (see DynoDrive Components and Options).
  • ZPA (Zero Pressure Accumulation) lines.
  • Limited space or floor-mounted applications.
  • Noise sensitive environments.
  • Weigh scale and workstation conveyors.
